Dr. Nyasha Masuka
Specialist Community Physician and WHO Health Systems Consultant, Zimbabwe
Dr Nyasha Masuka is a Specialist Community Physician, Health Systems Consultant and member of the Zimbabwe College of Public Health Physicians. Dr Masuka is currently working at the WHO Zimbabwe country office in the Health Systems Strengthening unit and is a member of the WHO Health Financing Technical Network. Dr Masuka is an industry partner in the EMDIYA (Ethics for Mental health Digital Innovations for Youth in Africa) project and represents SmartR Health.
Dr Masuka holds a Masters in Public Health-Health Systems Management and Policy from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degrees from the University of Zimbabwe. He has over 20 years of experience working at every level of the Zimbabwean health system (district, province, and CEO of a central hospital). He has lectured in the management module of the MPH program at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences including field supervision of MPH participants for 6 years. Dr Masuka was a council member of the Medical Research Council of Zimbabwe (MRCZ) from 2016 to 2019. He has also worked as a consultant in the development of health policies and strategies in Zimbabwe and The Gambia.
