Dr Sarah Wawa holds a doctorate and is a consultant Psychiatrist currently working in Machakos county in the level 5 referral Hospital. She holds a double Masters degree in Psychiatry and Public Health, and is passionate about mental health research. She is an alumni of the World Health Organization’s Mental Health Leadership and Advocacy Program (MHLAP) and is an accredited addiction professional. She has a special interest in promoting mental health wellness, working with the youth, and preventing harmful substance use. She has been a research assistant in several mental health studies during and after her residency. She sees herself fully going into a mental health research career in the future.
