Mr Chavhunduka is a lead Software Engineering Consultant for CDC/PEPFAR funded IDeAS (Integrated Decision Analytics Support) program in Zambia. IDeAS program provides technical support to the Ministry of Health, ensuring sustainable Health Information Systems (HIS) for the HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control in Zambia. He is also the co-founder and Group CEO at Digital Treasure International (DTI), a software development and consulting firm with subsidiaries in Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. He has 20 years of experience as a Software consultant in many industry sectors including Healthcare, Banking, Education, International Development, and Agriculture. Prior to founding DTI, Mr Chavhunduka worked as Software Engineer for international technology companies: IBM and ICL.

Mr. Chavhunduka is an industry partner in the EMDIYA (Ethics for Mental health Digital Innovations for Youth in Africa) project and represents the Digital Treasure firm. He participates in the Data Management and M&E as well as the Branding work packages. He also provides technical assistance regarding the development and use of digital innovations for mental health.

Mr. Chavhunduka is an Early Career Researcher (ECR) at the University of KwaZulu Natal where is studying for a Master’s degree in Public Health by research focusing on ‘Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in eHealth’, specifically developing and evaluating an AI-powered mobile and web-based application software for community-based surveillance of schistosomiasis.

Mr Chavhunduka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Zimbabwe and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from Plymouth Marjon University, United Kingdom.
