Lancet Young Leader for Global Mental Health - Rwanda
Grace Gatera is a 26 year old mental health and NCDs lived experience advocate, living in Kigali, Rwanda. She is the communications coordinator for PIH Rwanda/Inshuti Mu Buzima, and serves as a young leader for the My Mind Our Humanity, a youth campaign for the Lancet Commission on Global Mental Health and Sustainable Development. Grace strongly believes in youth access to specialised and quality mental health care and medication, as well as their involvement in high level policy and decision making involving Mental Health. As a young leader, she has spoken at the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit, and the NCD Global Forum in Sharjah, UAE. She has also collaborated with other members of My Mind Our Humanity to release a policy brief that can be accessed here. In her spare time, she loves to read female detective novels.
